Faith is Not Just Mere Belief

January 28th 2012 -

One of the most controversial issues with Christianity is the one contained in the Bible verses about faith. Little by little, let’s lay down facts here. Faith is not just mere belief in whatsoever. Having faith is not just acknowledging the existence or occurrence of something; it’s not a detached position over something. Rather, it is putting the whole of your being in accordance to what are the prerequisites of a belief. For example, look at loyalty. Loyalty is not a strange word for us. We use this to describe the requirements of a relationship, whether it is nationalism, friendship or other special mutual relationships. When we are told to be loyal, it is different than being blind. Loyalty when needed, entails a strong sense of sight. Why? In being loyal, you submit to the improvement or betterment of the other side of the relationship. Likewise, in our faith in God, we are not prevented from questioning. In asking, we develop – WE. So why inhibit such possibility of development?
